Position Title: Print Production & Design Manager

Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt / Full-Time

Position Overview

The Print Production & Design Manager oversees the entire lifecycle of print and digital design projects—from conceptual creative development to final production and delivery. This role combines hands-on design expertise with strong project management and vendor coordination skills. The manager ensures all materials meet brand standards, production specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.

This individual acts as the bridge between the creative team, production team, internal stakeholders, and external vendors, ensuring high-quality output and efficient production workflows across all printed and visual marketing assets.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Creative Development (40%)

• Lead and execute design projects, including printed and non-printed products
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Review and approve design files, ensuring technical readiness for production.
• Create templates, asset libraries, and style guides as needed.

Print Production Management (40%)

• Oversee end-to-end print production processes (prepress, proofing, press checks, finishing, shipping).
• Manage relationships with print vendors, agencies, and suppliers.
• Obtain bids, negotiate pricing, and evaluate vendor capabilities/quality.
• Ensure materials meet color, material, and finishing specifications.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement workflow improvements.

Project & Workflow Management (20%)

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
• Build and maintain production schedules and resource allocations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, production, sales, and operations teams.
• Track budgets, reconcile production costs, and report on project performance.
• Implement process efficiencies to streamline design and production workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in print production, graphic design, or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
• Strong understanding of print processes: prepress, color profiles, finishing techniques, large-format printing, etc.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Experience in print design and industrial print production required.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
• Knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• CAD experience (AutoCAD and/or SOLIDWORKS).
• Experience with labor & inventory tracking systems.
• Experience with EFI & Durst printers.

Work Environment

• On-site.
