Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Culinary Team member to join our New Mediterranean restaurant opening, led by Chef Charbel Hayek, Top Chef MENA winner and chef behind Lady hawk (featured on Los Angeles Times 101 Best Restaurants list.) This role involves preparing and serving high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Ideal candidates will have a passion for culinary arts, strong food handling skills, and experience in various food industry settings, including fine dining or catering. The Culinary Team member will work collaboratively within a fast-paced kitchen setting to deliver exceptional service and delicious meals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with attention to quality and presentation
  • Assist in menu planning and meal preparation to meet dietary needs and specifications
  • Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations
  • Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and portioning
  • Support kitchen operations during meal service, including plating and serving dishes
  • Use knife skills efficiently for food prep tasks such as chopping, slicing, and dicing
  • Assist with catering events and special functions as needed
  • Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment cleaning and waste disposal
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow during busy periods

Qualifications

  • Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred
  • Background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
  • Skills in menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation
  • Fine dining or catering experience is a plus
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
  • Prior kitchen experience within the food industry or culinary field is advantageous
  • Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and attention to detail are essential
