Responsibilities
- Act as an Advocate to the program by providing orientation, peer support rehabilitation, and engage clients to the program
- Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team and share practical insight related to mental illness management, life skills, and lifelong recovery journey
- Inspire clients toward recovery by utilizing experiences as a recipient of mental health services.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care plans and connect clients with appropriate mental health or addiction counseling services
- Mentor clients through skill-building activities that promote social engagement, independence, and wellness
- Support clients in navigating community resources, housing, employment, and other essential services
- May assist clients by driving to appointments, benefits applications, and assessing social service needs
- Assist clerical and administrative duties as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must have lived experience of mental health conditions recovery, demonstrating resilience and empathy or has a close family member that has received mental health services
- At least six months experience
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and empower others through motivational interviewing methods
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
- First Aid/CPR certification is required and must be kept current during employment
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- A valid California driver's license in good standing
- Ability to pass criminal/background clearance
Our Transitional Residential Treatment Program (Changing Options) provides structured, community based residential treatment services for adults throughout San Diego County. We deliver a compassionate alternative to psychiatric hospitalization to clients who are experiencing severe mental health conditions. Changing Options provide services in a home-like environment that specializes in the psychosocial rehabilitation of each client.

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
