Line Cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for creating high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are adhered to. Your expertise in menu planning and fine dining will contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

• Prepare and present a variety of dishes, with attention to detail and presentation.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop innovative sushi menu items that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
• Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and best practices for handling and storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station, including proper sanitation of tools and equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
• Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff on dish preparation techniques and food safety standards.
• Engage with customers to provide recommendations on menu items, enhancing their dining experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and knife skills.
• Experience in fine dining establishments is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus.
• Ability to plan menus that cater to diverse tastes while considering dietary restrictions.
• Excellent food handling skills with a focus on maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is essential; catering experience is an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $ $19.00 per hour
