Summary

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE Develops and optimizes manufacturing processes within an industrial plant environment. Focuses on maximizing operational efficiency through the analysis of equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization. Determines the necessary parts, tools, and resources required to meet production goals in alignment with product specifications and quality standards. Lead development and optimization of new manufacturing processes and products. Participate in cross-functional new product development meetings. Apply knowledge of ISO 9000 quality management systems. Create, implement, and verify production documentation to meet quality standards. Handle non-conforming material reports (NCMRs), including root cause analysis and material review Implement and verify corrective actions. Apply lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Analyze and improve process capability (Cp, Cpk) to reduce variation and ensure processes meet specifications. Conduct time studies and evaluate machine utilization to identify production efficiencies. Improve product quality, reduce cycle time, and enhance cosmetic appearance of parts. Initiate and enhance real-time SPC systems. Utilize SPC data to proactively control and improve manufacturing processes. Warranty and product support: Investigate product returns, rework, and warranty claims; drive root cause analysis and long-term solutions. Interpret CAD drawings for fixturing, tooling, QC gauges, and plant layouts. Support manufacturing projects through research, design, quoting, reporting, and coordination with management. Perform a variety of technical and operational tasks as assigned. Maintain regular and dependable attendance; must be physically present to perform job duties. Demonstrate a high degree of creativity and problem-solving ability. COMPETENCIES Technical expertise in manufacturing processes Computer literate Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings 10/2025 Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Project) WORK ENVIRONMENT This role involves approximately 50% office work and 50% time on the shop floor in a manufacturing environment. Time on the floor is primarily dedicated to observing processes, collecting data, conducting studies, troubleshooting, and both supporting and implementing engineering or quality improvement initiatives. Routine use of standard office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position requires prolonged computer use. Employees are exposed to Foundry atmospheric conditions such as fumes or airborne particles, noise, extreme weather, vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Note, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when entering the plant to include ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel toe boots. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; walk; stoop; bend; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, and crouch. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. TRAVEL Little to no travel is expected for this position. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering 2+ years' experience working in manufacturing plant **Related experience and/or Degrees may be considered in lieu of required education and experience.
