The Program Manager Drop-In Center oversees the staffing, documentation and accreditation requirements, engages community members in Drop-In Center and coordinates volunteers, oversees Drop-In Center budget and purchasing, provides general peer support services; serves as an advocate; brokers information and resources for consumers in a variety of behavioral health and community settings. The Program Manager performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in the recovery processes. The Program Manager engages in supportive interactions with all ODMHSAS stakeholders.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct supervision of drop-in center staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure staff receive ongoing training and education on recovery, mental health and wellbeing, substance use, crisis intervention, de-escalation, harm reduction, and available community resources.
  • Assist with program development and sustainability.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and accreditation requirements.
  • Monitor and provide monthly reports on program operations and outcomes to Director of Clinical Services, Chief Programs Officer, ODMHSAS, and relevant committees.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with all community partners, including but not limited to Northcare, Red Rock, Goodwill, Equality Health, OKDHS, etc.
  • Coordinate and facilitate peer support groups and self-help (mutual support) groups.
  • Share knowledge about and resources for various behavioral health settings and ancillary services (i.e. Social Security, housing services, supportive employment, and advocacy organizations).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current trends and developments in the behavioral health field through ongoing participation in training other educational opportunities.
  • Represent and promote the Association, its policies, mandates, visions, and initiatives, both internally and within the community.
  • Stand in for the Director of Clinical Services in Oklahoma City as needed. These activities may include attending meetings, public speaking engagements, and delegating or directing staff as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other similar degree. Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in program management and staff supervision, with thorough knowledge of management and leadership techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with individuals who are homeless, disabled (mental or physical), and/or working with substance abuse or co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong knowledge base of community resources in Oklahoma City and surrounding areas.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports and presentations both internally and in a large community/public setting.
  • Proficient PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with other data management systems including web-based applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to systematically gather relevant information and apply logic to solving problems and making decisions; handle crisis situations and make management decisions with ease, speed, accuracy, and precision.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Meet requirements to obtain and/or maintain CPRSS certification through ODMHSAS.
  • Demonstrated participation in advocacy and/or personal knowledge in recovery.
  • Be willing to self-disclose about personal recovery and wellness.
  • Be stabilized in recovery and practice ongoing self-care.
  • Be able to serve as an example for others of what wellness and recovery looks like.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is performed in climate-controlled office setting, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is unlikely.
  • Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (printers, fax machine, phones, etc.)
  • No environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
  • Work requires a flexible work schedule due to internal and external meetings. Occasional travel may be required; must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to move ten pounds occasionally.
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards of the site and staff behavior.
  • Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more).
  • Ability to safely and properly use office equipment.
