Electrical Controls Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Controls Engineer to join our growing team at Swegon North America. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting electrical controls for HVAC equipment and systems. The Electrical Controls Engineer will work alongside the application engineering team, service technicians, and project managers to deliver high-performing, integrated systems tailored to each client's unique needs.
This is a hands-on, technically challenging role that requires deep expertise in controls and an understanding of modern HVAC systems.
Compensation: $60,000 to $110,000, the actual salary the successful candidate is offered will be dependent on several factors related to the specified position.
Vacancy status: this is an open vacancy within Swegon North America that is based in Ajax, ON.
Hybrid policy: for the first 6 months, the incumbent will be expected to be in the office located in Ajax, ON a minimum of 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities

Technical lead in Swegon North American building automation solutions including Heating-cooling plant control, integration with VRF solutions, Ventilation system control

Collaborate with Swegon Control product development teams in the application of HVAC control systems for North American market

Be subject matter expert on North American codes and standards. Work closely with control development team for compliance

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Applications, Engineering, and Service) to define technical requirements and develop project specifications

Analyze and troubleshoot control systems, resolving technical problems and providing innovative solutions

Integrate various building systems using protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and others
-
Investigate electrical and electronic issues and recommend corrective actions
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other discipline with extensive control experience

5 years of experience. Solid understanding of BAS systems and communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet)

Extensive Experience in HVAC control solutions
