Overview
We are looking for a Dental Assistant to cover our employee while she is out for surgery. You will work with one doctor and cover a set schedule.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment to ensure smooth clinical operations.
- Assist dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records using Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments efficiently and maintaining aseptic technique throughout procedures.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and oral hygiene practices to promote ongoing health.
- Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, managing medical waste, and adhering to OSHA standards for a safe clinical environment.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
- Proficiency with dental software Eaglesoft is essential for managing patient records effectively.
- Knowledge of X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and 3D scanners enhances your ability to assist with advanced diagnostics.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures the confidentiality of all medical records and patient information.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices supports high-quality patient care.
- Experience in chairside assisting across multiple specialties like endodontics or prosthodontics is advantageous.
