Dietary Service Staff are responsible for the preparation and serving of the resident's meals using proper food handling techniques. Meals must be prepared according to the approved menu and recipes which are on file within the dietary department. Dietary service staff must maintain appropriate cleanliness and sanitation to prevent the occurrence of food home illnesses.

Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food production to ensure timely and appealing service for residents
- Serve meals with professionalism and friendliness, adhering to dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning dining areas, kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment following sanitation protocols
- Support food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, portioning, and presentation of meals
- Buss tables and assist with dishwashing to keep dining spaces tidy and organized
- Help with food safety practices by following proper hygiene and sanitation procedures at all times
- Support the dietary department by assisting with inventory management and food stocking as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices
- Strong time management skills to handle meal service efficiently in a busy environment
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining excellent customer service skills
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, serving, or dietary aide responsibilities is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food safety regulations such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to cleaning and food service tasks
