Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that meet diverse stakeholder needs
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to gather requirements and translate them into effective visualizations
• Integrate data from multiple sources including AWS, Azure Data Lake, Oracle, SQL Server, and Hadoop-based platforms such as Apache Hive and Spark
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability within Power BI and related tools
• Implement advanced analytics features such as trend analysis, forecasting, and model training within Power BI environments
• Develop automated data pipelines using ETL tools like Talend, Informatica, and Shell Scripting to ensure timely data updates
• Work with RESTful APIs to connect external data sources seamlessly into dashboards
• Conduct database design improvements for efficient data warehousing solutions using Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle databases
• Utilize programming languages such as Python, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), and Java for custom data processing tasks
• Apply Agile methodologies to manage project timelines effectively while continuously improving dashboard functionalities
• Support integration of linked data concepts to enhance cross-platform analytics capabilities
• Assist in database management activities including schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimization

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing dashboards using Power BI or similar BI tools like Looker or Tableau
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets across various database systems including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Big Data platforms like Hadoop or Spark
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure Data Lake for scalable data storage solutions
• Knowledge of ETL processes utilizing Talend, Informatica, or custom scripting languages (Python, Shell Scripting) for data integration tasks
• Familiarity with big data technologies including Hadoop ecosystem components (Hadoop, Hive) and Spark for large-scale data processing
• Understanding of Data Warehouse architecture principles and database design best practices
• Ability to analyze complex datasets using advanced analysis skills to derive meaningful insights
• Experience working within Agile project environments with cross-functional teams
• Technical skills in Java development or VBA scripting are advantageous for automation tasks
• Knowledge of RESTful API integration techniques for external data access
• Strong communication skills to effectively present findings and collaborate with stakeholders across departments

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
