Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fresh produce and other food items according to recipes and standards
  • Assist in cooking and food preparation tasks to support the culinary team in creating delicious meals efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including sanitizing utensils, surfaces, and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and labeling to prevent spoilage and cross-contamination
  • Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients for daily specials or catering events as needed
  • Follow all food handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests
  • Assist with plating and serving food during meal service times to ensure timely delivery of orders
  • Collaborate with team members to uphold quality standards and foster a positive kitchen atmosphere
  • Participate in inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies or potential shortages

Experience
Candidates should bring a passion for food preparation and a proactive attitude toward learning. Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to grow. Experience in restaurant kitchens or the food industry—including catering or food service roles—will help you excel in this position. Skills such as knife handling, meal preparation, cooking techniques, food safety practices, and understanding of kitchen operations are highly desirable. Candidates with culinary experience or background in the food industry will find this role an excellent stepping stone. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential qualities for success. This position is ideal for individuals eager to expand their culinary skills while contributing to a vibrant team dedicated to delivering quality meals with care.

Pay: From $19.18 per hour

Expected hours: 34 per week
