Behavioral Health Technician

About the Role:

The Behavioral Health Technician at Harbor Village Inc, plays a critical role in supporting individuals with serious emotional disturbances (SED) by providing compassionate and effective care within a clinical setting. This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of individualized treatment plans, conducting clinical assessments, and managing crisis situations to ensure patient safety and well-being. The technician will maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation to support continuity of care and facilitate communication among the multidisciplinary team. Additionally, the role involves collaborating closely with mental health professionals to develop and execute discharge plans that promote successful patient transitions. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
• Certification or training in behavioral health or mental health support.
• Experience in clinical documentation and patient care within a behavioral health setting.
• Knowledge of crisis management and crisis intervention techniques.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related behavioral health field.
• Previous experience working with children or adults with serious emotional disturbances (SED).
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills demonstrated in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct clinical assessments and monitor patient behavior to identify needs and progress.
• Provide direct patient care and support in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
• Manage crisis situations through effective crisis intervention techniques to ensure safety.
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes and discharge plans.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals and participate in team meetings to coordinate care.
• Assist in developing and implementing discharge plans to support patient reintegration.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies related to patient care and documentation.
