Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in food preparation and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety standards and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Prep Cook, you will assist in meal preparation, support the dietary department, and contribute to menu planning and catering services.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, and measuring food items according to recipes.
• Assist in meal preparation for various services, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Follow food safety guidelines and sanitation practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
• Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed.
• Handle food items with care, adhering to proper food handling techniques.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or as a cook is preferred.
• Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety standards is essential.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while managing time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in food preparation.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
