Zev technologies is seeking a highly detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to join our team. Our company is a high quality, high precision, production machine shop manufacturing firearms and firearm components in aluminum and hard metals utilizing industry leading manufacturing technology. Every machinist is responsible for manufacturing high quality parts and following our quality procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload parts correctly as well as consistently in a timely manner. Understanding what to look for as you are loading parts, the importance of clean parts as well as fixtures etc.
  • Perform visual, dimensional as well as functional checks using precision measuring equipment. This is a daily requirement.
  • Perform Tool Inspections, identifying worn tools, documenting tool changes etc.
  • Performing Machine Maintenance in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Adjusting tool offsets as well as program adjustments to keep parts in tolerance.
  • Build tools based off tool list. (Knowledge of tool holders, LOC, different types of tools).
  • Navigate Fanuc as well as Okuma controls. (Can train the right candidate).
  • TTO/ Prove out new code. (Need to know what to look for).
  • Basic understanding of G and M code.
  • The ability to operate a minimum of 2 machines simultaneously. (Each operator operates a "cell" of machines, the run times are paired to make this feasible).

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a machinist in a job shop environment.
  • Must be able to properly use as well as read various measuring tools. (i.e.: calipers, micrometer, depth mic's, height gauges & bore gauges.)
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics.
  • Experience with Fanuc Robotics is a plus.
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, Fanuc, Okuma, Haas, Mazatrol etc.
  • High School diploma or GED; Must be able to read and write legibly.
  • Self-motivated and able to be highly productive with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly (Verbal as well as written).
  • Must work well as a team as well as individually.
  • Attention to detail is vital.
  • Reliable transportation.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have good vision, good hand/eye coordination as well as dexterity with small parts and hand tools.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of different environments safely as well as efficiently.
  • Must be able to work around frequent exposure to fumes as well as dust and noise (with provided safety equipment).
