MySQL Database Administrator

• 5-8 years of experience in MySQL Database Administration.
• In-depth knowledge of MySQL versions 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4.
• Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases to ensure their operational efficiency.
• Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security.
• Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues or bottlenecks.
• Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
• Implement security measures in line with compliance standards and best practices.
• Work with software developers to optimize queries and improve database design.
• Solid understanding of Unix/Linux system administration related to MySQL.
• Proficiency in writing complex shell scripting for automation.
• Good communication skills with both technical and management teams

Roles & Responsibilities:

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting of MySQL databases across various versions (including MySQL 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4).
• The candidate should have experience working in high-availability environments and demonstrate strong skills in automation, security, and compliance.
• Perform periodic maintenance / patching as required
• Monitor database performance and perform proactive tuning.
• Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security.
• Define and implement best practices and automation initiatives.
• Lead database migration projects (on-prem to cloud / version upgrades).
