Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support licensed physical therapists in providing comprehensive patient care across various settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those recovering from acute or chronic conditions. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, with experience in discharge planning and care plan implementation. Certification and licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant are required.

Duties

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercises to improve mobility, strength, and function.
  • Support patients through their rehabilitation process in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health visits, and skilled nursing facilities.
  • Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in accordance with healthcare regulations.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and injury prevention strategies.
  • Participate in discharge planning by assessing patient progress and coordinating follow-up care or referrals as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients during therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice.
  • Experience with outpatient clinics, inpatient care, home health services, or skilled nursing facilities is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other manual therapies.
  • Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans for diverse patient populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those in acute care settings.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
