Senior Network Engineer

A major technology services division, committed to developing and maintaining mission-critical solutions for a large public sector client, is seeking an expert
Network Engineer
to lead significant infrastructure projects.

This high-impact role requires a Cisco-certified professional to design, implement, and secure a stable, consistent network architecture (WAN, LAN, and wireless) that supports essential, statewide services. You will be instrumental in the stability and security of the entire enterprise network.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Lead the design, implementation, and security of enterprise network solutions for critical state programs.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot a complex, statewide network environment utilizing
  Cisco and Meraki
  technology.
• Configure, maintain, and patch a variety of Cisco firewalls (ASA, FirePower) and switches (Nexus, Catalyst series).
• Conduct in-depth network diagnostics and remote troubleshooting with external IT partners.
• Apply expert knowledge to ensure network security and compliance with industry standards.

Non-Negotiable Requirements (4+ Years Experience)

Candidates must demonstrate expert-level proficiency and hold the following certifications/experience:

  Certification (Required)

  Certification (Required)
• Troubleshooting:
  4+ years of hands-on experience using
  Wireshark
  for deep packet analysis and resolution.
• Cisco Hardware:
  4+ years of experience configuring and maintaining
  Cisco Firewalls, Routers, and Switches
  .
• Communication:
  Proven ability to communicate complex design and implementation decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Network Design:
  5+ years of experience designing and operating public/private networks, including LAN/WAN topology, and strategic placement of network devices (servers, routers, firewalls).
• Microsoft Networking:
  4+ years of experience supporting
  Microsoft network communications
  (equivalent to former MCSE) with expertise in hybrid networking, security, and connectivity.
• Cloud Integration:
  Experience with
  Azure
  , specifically planning, implementing, and securing private access to Azure services.
• Security Tools:
  Familiarity with Cisco FMC, ASDM, ISE, Nmap, SIEM, and
  PowerShell
  .
