Role Summary

We're looking for a Senior Security Systems Installer / Lead Installer to take ownership of complex projects from rough-in to final commissioning. You'll be hands-on in the field while also guiding junior installers, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring every system is installed cleanly, safely, and to spec. This is a great fit for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, can troubleshoot confidently, and knows how to lead a crew without needing constant oversight.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience installing security and low-voltage systems

  • Proven ability to manage or lead installation teams on active job sites

  • Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across NYC

  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in tight construction conditions

Technical Experience Needed

You should be comfortable installing, servicing, and configuring most (or all) of the following:

Security & Low-Voltage Systems

  • Intercom systems, including smart intercoms

  • Audio/video intercoms

  • Multi-tenant and single-door setups

  • App-based / cloud-managed visitor and entry systems

CCTV systems

  • Analog cameras (coax/BNC)

  • IP cameras (PoE, NVR/VMS setups)

  • Access control systems

  • Mag locks, strikes, keypads, readers

  • Door controllers and panels

  • Programming + testing

Alarm systems

  • Intrusion sensors, panels, peripherals

  • Wiring and system verification

Network deployment

  • Cat5e/Cat6 runs, terminations, patch panels

  • Switch setup and basic network troubleshooting

Installation Methods

  • Running wire cleanly and safely through varied environments

  • Drilling, wire pulling, and fishing

  • Conduit installation (EMT/PVC/flex as required)

  • Mounting devices on concrete, metal, drywall, brick, and exterior structures

  • Following plans, scope documents, and site requirements

  • Maintaining clean labeling, documentation, and rack/closet standards

Team Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead a crew of junior installers and helpers

  • Assign daily tasks and keep work moving efficiently

  • Train team members on best practices and safe install methods

  • Communicate progress and issues clearly to PMs and clients

  • Maintain a high standard for workmanship and site cleanliness

  • Help plan materials/tools needed ahead of time

  • Junior installers grow under your direction

  • Clients feel confident in the professionalism of the crew

  • Install quality is clean, consistent, and meets code/spec

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Manufacturer certifications (Hikvision, Dahua, Ubiquiti, Brivo, Aiphone, DoorBird,

Honeywell, EagleEye Networks, etc.)

  • Experience with multi-door/multi-tenant access and intercom installations

  • Ability to read construction drawings and riser diagrams fluently

  • OSHA 30 and SSA

  • Programming knowledge of alarm systems, smart intercom systems, and access

control systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $69, $90,000.00 per year
