Position: Operator I

General Summary:

The Operator I position is responsible for performing work in several manufacturing workstations within the facility. Responsible for the accurate production of plumbing fittings, including sizing for accuracy and other quality control processes that ensure fittings are to the highest standard. The Operator I will also maintain a clean and organized workstation by cleaning and organizing tools, dies, rams and other parts. Operations include but are not limited to pressing, roll grooving, saw operation, furnace operation and other duties assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Must be able to utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers and measuring tape in both metric and standard measures.

· Fits and assembles tooling, and dies. Sets up, tests and operates and shuts down presses, saws, vibratory polisher, rinse station, nitrogen tank, chiller cooler and other machinery to produce finished parts for assembly.

· Performs daily, weekly and PM maintenance from standardized SOP's on required machinery.

· Transports and stages necessary parts via forklift to workstations and storage areas.

· Familiar with metal fabrication and manufacturing processes is a plus.

· Safety - Comply with all company, state and federal OSHA safety rules, policies, and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment (PPE). Respond to safety concerns by taking appropriate action.

· Be able to perform in a team environment and autonomously when required.

· Welding experience is a plus.

· This position involves working at various positions in the shop and in a cold and hot environment depending on the season.

· Be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Preferences:

· 2 years of work experience in a similar position preferred.

Required Qualifications:

· Mechanical aptitude is required

· Positive work attitude

· Clear communication with co-workers and managers.

· Lift up to 50 pounds frequently during an 8-hour work shift.

· Bend, stoop, push, and pull in a busy work environment for up to an 8-hour work shift.

· Stand for up to an 8-hour work shift.

· Grip, manipulate, and hold small parts with fingers.

· Hear different types of sound/decibels/tone such as alarms, sirens, and vibratory equipment.

· Forklift experience and the ability to be certified through outside certification training.

· Has excellent attendance.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
