Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. Your responsibilities will include personal care, meal assisstance, and facilitating community engagement while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide patient care and support in a residential setting.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and behaviors to ensure their well-being.
• Follow care plans tailored to each individual's needs while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and skill development.
• Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic living environment.
• Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals once Med Tech Certified.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Background in caregiving, nursing, or social work is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient mobility assistance.
• Strong observational skills for monitoring changes in patient conditions.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
