Job SummaryTo promote Employee wellness, health and fitness. Identify areas where the wellness program can improve employee health and minimize health costs. Works with BSD partners to coordinate services and improve processes.
Job Responsibilities- Collaborates with Wellness Manager on wellness service(s) for employees at all BSD facilities.
- Assist Wellness Manager in tracking wellness statistics to determine the effectiveness of the wellness program.
- Creates and promotes new programs that can improve employee health and further the wellness initiatives for BSD.
- Provide one on one meetings with employees to discuss health and fitness goals, health history, and health concerns related to exercise.
- Conduct presentations for new employees highlighting wellness programs, benefits, and resources.
- Educate employees on a broad range of health and fitness topics including but not limited to proper nutrition, exercise as preventative medicine, controlling and managing diseases related to lifestyle choices, weight loss, the importance of flexibility training, and making exercise a part of daily lifestyle.
- Reviews health history questionnaires discuss employee's current fitness level and any special considerations, and when needed, seek the referral of their doctor before beginning an exercise program.
- Train employees in one-on-one sessions that are targeted and goal specific, demonstrate proper exercise techniques and safety, and create individualized exercise prescription for each employee.
- Conduct meetings with employees on current exercise program, take basic biometrics to track progress, and modify the program as needed.
- Provide employees with weekly motivation and educational health tips, health and nutrition editorials, and other useful nutrition and exercise information handouts.
- Develops, implements, and facilitates wellness challenges throughout the year..
- Builds relationships with all employees to create awareness and participation in community events.
- Serve as a direct line for employees needing assistance or have questions regarding health and fitness.
- Visits all BSD Missouri/Illinois location sites and visit with employees to discuss any questions about health and fitness.
- Generates materials and works closely with marketing team to create marketing materials for various wellness programs.
- Assess equipment needs and want(s) for all gym facilities and coordinate repairs with gym vendor and wellness manager.
- Conducts site visits biweekly to ensure cleanliness of BSD gym equipment surfaces.
- Makes suggestions on needed improvements.
- Attends monthly Wellness Committee meetings and provide updates and suggestions on improving the health and wellness of employees.
- Publish, post, and help with oversight of BSD Wellness social media platforms.
- Performs assigned wellness tasks as requested.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other Agency and department personnel.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of statistical data and costs.
- Detailed knowledge of health and wellness programs.
- Maintains any certifications deemed necessary to provide sufficient service.
