*Job Title:* Associate Product Manager
*Location:* Orange County, CA (Hybrid preferred)
*About Cappital: *Cappital is a custom software development company specializing in media and OTT experiences, including mobile apps, connected TV apps, web platforms, and subscription-based content products. We have an extensible platform foundation (CMS + app framework + services) that accelerates development across projects, but today we primarily deliver tailored solutions for client organizations.
Technology is only part of what we do. At our core, we’re a people-first company driven by long-term relationships, shared purpose, and deep respect for the clients and teams we serve. We work especially with values-driven and faith-based organizations, as well as mission-driven nonprofit/advocacy groups, and we care deeply about doing the right thing by our clients, users, and team, even when it’s harder.
We’re evolving: continuing hands-on delivery while increasingly moving toward more productized offerings, partnerships, and scalable internal products. This role is built for someone who can bring strong delivery execution today — and wants to grow into deeper product ownership as our organization changes.
*The Role: *We’re hiring an Associate Product Manager (Delivery) to own day-to-day execution for several active client projects. This is a delivery-heavy role at the center of engineering, design, and stakeholder needs: you’ll turn messy inputs into clear tickets, drive releases, run stakeholder communication, and help ensure our work stays aligned with scope and agreements.
In the near term, success is measured by continuity, delivery quality, and predictable communication. Over time, there is room to grow into more product-oriented work — discovery, shaping product direction, and AI-enabled building as our org evolves.
You’ll report to our COO and work closely with engineers, designers, and business stakeholders.
*What You’ll Do*
_*Delivery & Execution*_
* Translate stakeholder goals and feedback into clear user stories and tickets (with strong acceptance criteria and edge cases)
* Maintain backlog hygiene: priorities, dependencies, readiness, and quality
* Coordinate sprint planning and release cycles with engineering and design
* Own QA coordination, launch checklists, release notes, and rollout communication
_*Stakeholder & Client Communication*_
* Run weekly stakeholder calls: agendas, decisions, action items, and follow-ups
* Communicate progress, risks, and timeline changes clearly and calmly
* Identify scope creep early and help drive decisions around tradeoffs
_*Scope / Billing Support*_
* Track work against existing agreements (retainers / SOWs)
* Provide billing-ready summaries of completed work and work in progress
* Surface gaps between what’s being requested and what’s contracted
_*Continuous Improvement*_
* Bring structure to ambiguity without over-processing
* Improve delivery systems and communication patterns over time
* Use modern AI tools to accelerate clarity and execution (specs, documentation, workflows, prototyping)
*What Success Looks Like*
_*In the first 30 days*_
* You run stakeholder calls and keep projects organized and moving
* You write tickets that engineers and designers trust and can execute with minimal rewrite
* You learn our platform foundation and client customizations at a working level
_*In 60–90 days*_
* You run full release cycles with minimal oversight
* You proactively manage risks, dependencies, and scope creep
* You give the COO meaningful leverage by owning execution and stakeholder communication
*What We’re Looking For*
_*Must-Haves*_
* 2–5 years in a delivery-heavy role: PM, Product Owner, Delivery PM, Project Manager, or Implementation PM
* Demonstrated ability to think analytically and systemically; able to bring structure to complex, messy situations
* Strong written and verbal communication — clear, concise, and confident with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Experience coordinating releases and cross-functional delivery with engineering and design teams
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive — you take ownership and follow through
* Comfortable working directly with stakeholders and managing expectations
_*Nice-to-Haves*_
* Experience in media, OTT, video platforms, subscriptions, paywalls, or content workflows
* Familiarity with modern cloud-based project management and product design tools (ClickUp, Figma, etc.)
* Technical fluency (comfortable discussing APIs and implementation details with engineers)
* Interest in product discovery and long-term product direction
* Experience using AI tools to accelerate delivery (docs, specs, prototyping, analysis)
*You’ll Love This Role If…*
* You enjoy being close to building and shipping real software
* You like turning ambiguity into clarity and action
* You’re comfortable being accountable for delivery and communication
* You want to grow beyond timelines and into deeper product responsibility over time
* You’re excited about how AI is changing what product and engineering teams can do
* You want to join a company in transition — where strong execution leads to increased ownership
*This Role May Not Be a Fit If…*
* You prefer purely managing schedules rather than clarifying requirements and driving tradeoffs
* You dislike stakeholder communication or need highly defined inputs to do your work
* You aren’t interested in growing into broader product responsibility over time
*What We Value*
* *People-first thinking* — how we treat clients and colleagues matters as much as what we build
* *Clear thinkers* who ask smart questions and seek to understand before jumping in
* *Ownership and follow-through* — we don’t wait for perfect clarity to move forward
* *Humble, curious contributors* who drive work forward with initiative, but listen well and seek input
* *Strong collaborators* who communicate early and often
* *A mindset of continuous improvement* — always looking for better ways to deliver, document, and support
*Working Style / Location*
We strongly prefer someone located in *Orange County, CA,* who can collaborate in person at least part of the time. Hybrid is ideal.
_*Compensation & Benefits*_
* *$80,000 – $100,000 base salary* (DOE)
* *Excellent health coverage* (very low cost to employees)
* *Paid time off*
* *Quarterly KPI-based bonus program*
* High ownership role with a clear growth path as Cappital evolves toward more productized work
*What We Offer*
* A high-trust, low-ego environment with a talented and mission-aligned team
* A range of projects that offer variety, autonomy, and meaningful impact
* A role with meaningful ownership today and a clear growth path as the company evolves
