This role ensures high performance, availability, and security while collaborating with development teams to optimize database interactions./ppstrongResponsibilities:/strong/pullipDesign and implement database architectures for performance, availability, and security./p/lilipOversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases./p/lilipConduct performance tuning of queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies./p/lilipDevelop and implement backup, recovery, and failover procedures./p/lilipAssist in designing and developing data models and database solutions./p/lilipCollaborate with development teams to optimize database code in application layers./p/lilipProvide guidance on database best practices to IT staff and stakeholders./p/lilipEnsure database infrastructure remains current with technology trends and security patches./p/lilipMaintain documentation for database configurations and procedures./p/lilipServe as the primary point of contact for database-related queries and technical support./p/li/ulpstrongRequired Qualifications:/strong/pullipBachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree)./p/lilip8+ years of experience in database administration, with strong PostgreSQL expertise./p/lilipProficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL./p/lilipFamiliarity with Linux/Unix and scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl)./p/lilipKnowledge of high availability and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL./p/lilipStrong analytical and problem-solving skills./p/lilipExcellent communication and mentoring skills./p/lilipTop Secret clearance required/p/li/ulpstrongPreferred:/strong/pullipPostgreSQL certification./p/lilipExperience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, OCI) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)./p/lilipFamiliarity with other database systems (Oracle, MSSQL)./p/li/ulpAt AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $125,000-$189,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
