Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) is a methodology for streamlining software development and deployment, focusing on automating processes and enabling faster, more reliable releases. The selected individual will support activities as a member of an agile development team for a large complex enterprise system. The position requires a dedicated software engineer who will work on a variety of tasks. She/he must have a willingness to learn and use new technologies and methodologies, with a focus on automating processes and ensuring efficient software delivery. She/he must consider the organizations entire IT infrastructure when making changes and improvements./ppResponsibilities Include:/pulliManaging tools for development, deployment, and integrated testing./liliIntegrating project functions and resources across the entire product life cycle./liliIdentifying manual processes that can be automated./liliSelecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools./liliImplementing various development, testing, and automation tools, optimizing IT infrastructure./liliEnsuring that system improvements do not jeopardize system security./liliStriving for improvement, and building continuous integration, development, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD)./liliPersevering when facing challenges, with a strong commitment to the goals./liliCollaborating with and assisting team members across the program as needed./li/ulpRequired Skills and Qualifications:/pulliTo be eligible for this position you must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph./liliMust have a solid understanding of this company./liliMust have at least 5 years of experience managing tools for development, deployment, and integrated test./liliMust have at least 5 years of experience working with CI/CD frameworks./liliMust have meaningful System Administration experience (mostly Windows but also Linux)./liliMust have experience with several of the following: Java, Groovy, Python, PowerShell, Batch, and Bash scripting, JavaScript, AngularJS./liliMust have experience with IDEs (Integrated Development Environments) such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Rhapsody, WebStorm./liliMust have experience with software source control and configuration management tools./liliMust have experience working in a virtualized environment (managing VMs)./liliMust have experience with container-based platforms for automated deployment of applications./liliMust have experience with software source control and configuration management tools./liliMust be motivated, flexible and willing to learn new techniques, technologies and adhere to best practices in test automation./liliMust have a strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices./liliMust be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing./liliMust be an independent thinker, capable of performing high quality work, both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment./liliIf not located at the MD location, some short-duration travel may be required to support quarterly PI Planning sessions in MD./liliTo be considered for this role, candidates must meet the requirements for one of the following skill levels:/liulliSenior: Seven (7) years experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree./liliExpert: Fourteen (14) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree./liliSubject Matter Expert (SME): Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree./li/ul/ulpDesired Skills and Qualifications:/pulliExperience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server./liliExperience with Web Application User Interface Development, knowledge of databases and structures, Spring Framework, and/or experience working with AngularJS, JSON, HTML, XML, XSLT./liliExperience with the Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, SAFe Agilest Certification, or experience as a member of an Agile team./liliMust be able to plan and prioritize tasks that support the team sprint goals./li/ulpPay Rate: In compliance with Marylands Equal Pay for Equal Work law, the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $275,000. This range represents the base pay for this role and is provided in accordance with Marylands requirements to disclose compensation in job postings. Please note that actual compensation may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidates qualifications, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
