We are hiring a diligent Material Handler to join our growing logistics team in San Jose, California. This is a vital role responsible for the physical management of materials within our warehouse. Your duties will include receiving, storing, and distributing a wide range of products. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our inventory is accurately managed and accessible, supporting both inbound and outbound logistics operations. The ideal candidate is physically fit, possesses a strong work ethic, and has a keen eye for detail. Experience with manual material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and dollies, is essential. Safety is our top priority; therefore, strict adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. You will be involved in tasks that require regular lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. We are seeking individuals who can work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining a clean and orderly workspace, reporting any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas using appropriate equipment.
- Sort and organize inventory accurately.
- Pick and stage materials for outgoing shipments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and PPE usage.
- Identify and report any damages or discrepancies in inventory.
- Assist with inventory control activities, such as cycle counting.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform consistent heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Proficiency with pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other manual lifting equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
