We are seeking experienced Forklift Operators to join our busy distribution center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading materials within the warehouse. This role is critical to our **logistics** operations, ensuring timely flow of goods and maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets, materials, and products throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping areas.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated locations, ensuring stability and **safety**.
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all **safety** regulations, including proper **PPE** usage and safe operating procedures.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as put-away and retrieval of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways for movement.
- Follow **lifting** guidelines and proper ergonomic practices when handling materials not moved by forklift.
- Collaborate with other warehouse team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Participate in warehouse **safety** training sessions and contribute to a culture of **safety**.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of forklift operation, maintenance, and **safety** procedures.
- Ability to read and understand labels, pick lists, and shipping documents.
- Experience with various types of forklifts is an asset.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including **lifting** up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Strong understanding of warehouse **logistics** and material flow.
- Commitment to maintaining a **safe** work environment and adhering to all **PPE** requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
