We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse. You will be part of a fast-paced environment where safety and accuracy are paramount. The Forklift Operator will also be responsible for performing pre-operation inspections of the forklift to ensure safety and report any issues. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong physical stamina for lifting and moving materials, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Experience with various types of forklifts and warehouse management systems is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack materials.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Pick and stage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Follow all logistics and warehouse operational guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator with valid certification.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
