We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, complete, and dispatched on time. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing shipping documentation, verifying order details, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. You will also play a part in the physical handling of goods, which may involve moderate Lifting. Maintaining a safe and orderly workspace is essential, and you will be expected to adhere to all company safety standards and wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role requires excellent communication skills to liaise with internal departments and external shipping partners. A keen eye for detail is crucial to prevent errors and ensure customer satisfaction. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on efficient warehouse operations and the seamless movement of products. Responsibilities:
- Generate and process shipping orders and related documentation.
- Verify order accuracy against dispatch requirements.
- Prepare shipping labels and manifest for various shipping carriers.
- Coordinate with transportation providers for pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Assist in the staging and loading of outgoing shipments, involving moderate Lifting.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and filing systems.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Use warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks and scanners.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while performing duties.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics flow.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with shipments to management immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure Safety.
