We are searching for a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials throughout the warehouse. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth flow of goods and maintaining inventory accuracy, while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent spatial awareness, and a commitment to maintaining a secure work environment. Proper use of PPE is mandatory at all times. This role is essential to our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, etc.) to move pallets, materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues or needed maintenance.
- Assist with receiving and shipping functions as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, including speed limits, load limits, and pedestrian awareness.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics .
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with stock rotation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification/license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all relevant safety regulations and the mandatory use of PPE .
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
