We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Francisco, California. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for accurately accepting, inspecting, and processing all incoming shipments. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. You will work closely with vendors, shipping companies, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues with deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate lifting .
Responsibilities:
- Accept and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Inspect goods for quality and condition, reporting any issues to management.
- Accurately document all received items in the inventory management system.
- Tag and stage received goods for put-away by warehouse associates.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams regarding delivery status and issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or inventory role preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics .
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry.
- Understanding of and adherence to PPE requirements and general warehouse safety procedures.
