We have an immediate opening for a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage outbound logistics at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier standards. This includes preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and verifying package contents. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are essential. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare shipping orders for all outbound freight.
- Verify package contents and quantities against shipping documents.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure accurate addressing.
- Schedule pickups with common carriers and freight forwarders.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Operate shipping department equipment, such as scales and pallet jacks.
- Uphold strict safety standards, including the correct use of PPE.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is required.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and processing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and the use of PPE.
- Understanding of domestic and international shipping regulations is a plus.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with carriers and internal teams.
