We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing. Your role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the smooth flow of goods within our warehouse. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for unloading delivery trucks, verifying the contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, and identifying any damages or discrepancies. Proper documentation and reporting of received goods are essential. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is paramount. You will also assist with organizing and stocking received items in designated areas, ensuring easy accessibility for other warehouse operations. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damages and report any discrepancies.
- Document all receiving activities in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (certification may be required or provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Support other warehouse functions as directed to ensure overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with WMS.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent Lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and proper handling of materials.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
