Our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan, is looking for a proactive and experienced Warehouse Coordinator. This role is central to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse. You will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, managing inventory levels, coordinating shipments, and supervising a team of warehouse associates. This position requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics and supply chain management. You will play a critical role in optimizing workflows, implementing safety procedures, and ensuring timely order fulfillment. The ability to perform necessary lifting and maintain focus in a high-volume environment is essential. We are committed to maintaining a safe workplace, and all personnel must strictly adhere to safety regulations and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations and staff.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and optimal stock rotation.
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and enforce the use of PPE.
- Train and mentor warehouse associates on best practices and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with transportation and other departments to ensure seamless logistics.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvements.
- Handle operational issues and resolve problems promptly.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform lifting and other physically demanding tasks as required.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and experience implementing safety programs.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with inventory control best practices.
- Must ensure all team members adhere to PPE guidelines.
