Overview Longshot Systems Ltd builds advanced platforms for sports betting, analytics, and trading. As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will own the infrastructure that supports trading systems handling thousands of signals per second across multiple global sports betting platforms.
Responsibilities
Own the end‑to‑end infrastructure for trading, backtesting, real‑time systems, and long‑running backend services.
Work closely with the CTO and development teams to support production & development trading infrastructure.
Develop new infrastructure, detect, diagnose and automate performance and stability issues in applications, networks, and operating systems.
Analyze metrics, packet dumps, logs and implement automated remediation.
Maintain an on‑call model of best efforts, compensated out‑of‑hours.
Participate in our hybrid working model – office attendance Thursday in London (Farringdon) with flexible guidance for the rest of the week.
Interview Process Intro call – 30 min (background & interests). 1st Technical interview – 30 min (systems wrangling & code review). 2nd Technical interview – 60 min (deep technical questions). Full assessment day – 10:30‑5 pm, systems exercise, meet the team, office tour, lunch.
Requirements
Extensive experience as a Linux‑focused DevOps engineer.
Security, user management, auditing, provisioning.
Configuration management – strong expertise in Ansible.
Strong AWS skills: EC2, VPC, RDS, etc.
Networking experience – AWS VPC multi‑region, routing, VPN, general network security.
Ownership of monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus & Grafana).
Fluency in Bash and Python for automation.
Database administration experience with Postgres.
Proven experience in financial, trading or gaming sector where real money is handled.
