Maintenance Technician

Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry, a family-owned provider of specialty poultry, has an opening for a Plant Maintenance Technician out of our Yarrow location.

What you bring:

  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Must have valid drivers license with excellent driving record.
  • Electrical, plumbing & fabrication experience is an asset.
  • Forklift experience is an asset.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and the processing facility.
  • Maintain a log of operational hours for all equipment (Where available) & spare parts used during repair.
  • Troubleshoot machine/equipment failures and/or breakdowns.
  • Ensure processing equipment operates in compliance with employee and food safety requirements.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly premises inspection of the production facility, work with Maintenance Manager to prioritize repairs.
  • Responsible for equipment changeover between species
  • Provide support in new equipment installation, calibration, startup, and cleaning processes. Includes additional training to plant supervisors and/or operators as required.
  • Recognize and seek to remedy gaps in efficiency where modifications on equipment or existing processing tools may need to be made.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist maintenance team when available.
  • Any other duties assigned by Maintenance Manager

Relevant Experience: Any sort of food processing experience, forklift ticket, air ticket, WHMIS, food safe and first aid are all assets to this position but not required.
