Connect Counselling is entering a well-supported leadership transition. Over the past year, the organization has completed significant foundational work, including the upcoming launch of a refreshed brand and website, updated policies and manuals, and a strengthened management structure. With these pieces in place, Connect is ready for its next chapter, focused on sustainability, donor engagement, culture stewardship, and consistent operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Operations & Governance
- Provide overall organizational leadership aligned with mission, values, and strategy.
- Oversee operations, systems, risk management, and organizational sustainability.
- Lead strategic planning, project management, and policy oversight.
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board; prepare reports and recommendations.
- Promote ethical conduct, accountability, and sound decision-making.
People, Culture & HR
- Steward a healthy, respectful, and values-aligned workplace culture.
- Lead with emotional intelligence in a trauma-informed environment.
- Support managers in staffing, performance management, and team development.
- Address workplace issues with clarity, fairness, and care.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and respectful workplace standards.
Finance, Fundraising & Sustainability
- Partner with the Finance Manager on budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
- Oversee financial performance, risks, and long-term sustainability planning.
- Lead fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and grant oversight.
- Cultivate relationships with donors, funders, and community partners.
Communications, Community & Programs
- Lead marketing, communications, and public representation.
- Oversee website, social media, and community communications.
- Build partnerships that support referrals, funding, and program growth.
- Support program development and ensure alignment with mission and trauma-informed principles.
Requirements
Connect is seeking a leader who demonstrates:
- People-centred, emotionally intelligent leadership.
- Experience leading teams through change or complexity.
- Fundraising, donor engagement, or revenue development experience.
- Confidence supporting healthy workplace culture and accountability.
- Operational and financial acumen.
- Strong relationship-building skills with Boards, staff, and community partners.
- Effective communicator who fosters clarity, trust, and accountability.
Compensation & Work Structure
- This is a part-time (30 hours per week) Executive Director role.
- Salary: $75,000–$80,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
- Vacation: 4 weeks.
- Benefits: Extended health and dental (50/50 cost-shared); LTD employee-paid.
- Work model: Primarily in-office, with some flexibility.
Recruitment Process
Potentia Human Resources will be leading this search on behalf of Connect Counselling & Therapy Society.
The anticipated recruitment process includes:
- Initial application review and screening by Potentia HR.
- First-round interview with the Board.
- Informal meet-and-greet with a small group of staff representatives (coffee-based and conversational).
- Reference checks and final decision.
- The posting will remain open for approximately three weeks. The anticipated start date will align with organizational needs following the current Executive Director's departure at the end of January.
