Our Minneapolis, Minnesota location is seeking a skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for implementing and managing inventory control procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and identifying root causes of inventory loss. Strong analytical skills and a meticulous approach are required. The Inventory Control Specialist will work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock management and minimize errors. A key part of this role involves ensuring all operations adhere to safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). You will also be involved in optimizing storage solutions and improving overall warehouse efficiency. This position requires a thorough understanding of inventory management principles, experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), and the ability to analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. We are looking for a proactive individual who can take ownership of inventory accuracy and contribute to the smooth running of our logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Manage and optimize warehouse slotting and space utilization.
- Ensure accurate receiving and shipping documentation related to inventory.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to improve inventory accuracy.
- Promote and enforce safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Prepare inventory reports for management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
