Our busy distribution center in Washington, D.C. is looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to ensure the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing products. This role is fundamental to our logistics chain, requiring precision in documentation and coordination with carriers. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipments, verifying order accuracy, and maintaining essential records. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and document all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify that packed items match order details before dispatch.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary shipping documents.
- Coordinate with trucking companies and other carriers for pickup schedules.
- Update the Warehouse Management System (WMS) with all shipping details.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company and carrier regulations.
- Perform tasks involving lifting and moving of packages as needed.
- Strictly adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping dock area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a Shipping Clerk role or similar logistics position is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and WMS is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE is essential.
