Our Madison, Wisconsin facility is looking for a meticulous and reliable Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of goods. This role is essential for our logistics network, ensuring that all shipments are processed correctly and reach their destinations on time. You will be instrumental in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our shipping department.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing slips.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Label packages according to shipping regulations and customer requirements.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Operate shipping software and systems.
- Assist with receiving and warehousing as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to perform moderate lifting.
- Familiarity with DOT and international shipping regulations is a plus.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE, such as safety glasses and gloves.
- A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards.
