Join our logistics team in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a Receiving Clerk! We are looking for a reliable and organized individual to manage incoming shipments efficiently and accurately. This role is the first step in our inventory process, ensuring that all goods entering our facility are properly documented and handled. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately entering receiving data into our system. This position is vital to maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting the smooth flow of goods throughout our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role involves physical tasks, including frequent standing, walking, and moderate to heavy Lifting. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment. Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic computer skills are beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming merchandise from trucks and carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
- Inspect goods for damages, shortages, or discrepancies and report findings.
- Accurately record received goods in the warehouse management system (WMS) or other designated software.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Assist with inventory control tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent standing, walking, bending, and Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with WMS or similar inventory software is a plus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of basic safety principles in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
