Heavy Equipment Operator

TUQ4 is a one-of-a-kind contaminated soil recycling company located near Nanticoke, Ontario, Canada. TUQ4 recycles soil via physical/chemical, stabilization, and batch heating methods.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Proficient knowledge of all heavy equipment such as earth movers, bulldozers, front-end loaders, excavators, scrapers, backhoes, rock trucks and other related equipment and attachments
• Loading and offloading soil, rocks, debris and other materials from heavy equipment
• Advising supervisor of requisite upgrades, repairs and replacements
• Refuel, clean and lubricate equipment as prescribed
• Secure special attachments to equipment
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
• Ability to train others on techniques and operation of heavy equipment an asset
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Open to exploring additional training and education, industry related to further personal development
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Attributes & Experience

• Excellent interpersonal communications skills and professional behaviours, specifically maintaining confidentiality and sensitive information
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be capable of working with cross-functional teams
• Able to manage emergency situations, work pressures and stress
• Ability to work up to 12 hours a day and extended hours as required

Experience:

• Experience on earth moving equipment, finish operating experience
• Must have contaminated soil and/or waste experience
• Heavy Equipment Operator training is an asset

Other:

• Eligible to work in Ontario and travel within Canada
• Fluent in written and verbal English, other languages are an asset
• Ability to relocate and/or commute to site location with reliable transportation
• Physical stamina to work in outdoor environments and lift heavy objects as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
