Position Overview
The Inventory & Logistics Manager is a high-impact leadership role responsible for inventory accuracy, logistics performance, procurement operations, demand planning, and multi-site coordination across the organization.
This role will:
- Oversee a Warehouse Supervisor at a distribution center
- Oversee and mentor a Procurement Specialist/Buyer
- Lead forecasting, min/max inventory levels, and resupply planning
- Manage LTL freight carriers, fleet operations, and delivery drivers
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all SKUs
- Coordinate production output with multi-state distribution needs
- Work directly with the GM, Plant Manager, Call Center Manager, and Installer Manager
- Help establish KPIs and monthly reporting for supply chain performance
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Ownership & Strategy
- Own min/max inventory levels for all distribution centers
- Maintain accurate inventory for finished goods, cores, parts, and components
- Lead cycle counts, reconciliation, and monthly reporting
- Enforce transaction accuracy in our inventory systems
- Establish and maintain inventory organization standards across all locations
Manufacturing & Production Coordination
- Create work orders based on distribution inventory triggers
- Align production with sales volume, installer demand, and forecasting
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure correct SKUs are produced
- Own and maintain all Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Ensure BOM cost accuracy and proper component usage
- Coordinate production, shipping, and distribution workflows
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Build forecasting models using sales, warranty trends, and seasonality
- Maintain demand plans to prevent stock-outs
- Establish and track forecasting KPIs
Core & Parts Procurement
- Procure hybrid battery cores, parts, components, and consumables
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships
- Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms
- Supervise and develop the Procurement Specialist/Buyer
- Maintain cost tracking and purchasing documentation
Logistics, Freight & LTL Management
- Manage all LTL carrier relationships and freight scheduling
- Oversee outgoing core shipments and incoming finished goods
- Ensure compliance with routing, palletizing, safety, and loading SOPs
Fleet Maintenance & Delivery Operations
- Maintain fleet inspection schedules, service records, and compliance logs
- Improve fleet efficiency and reduce downtime
- Oversee driver performance, routing, and adherence to standards
Warehouse & Distribution Center Leadership
- Directly supervise a Warehouse Supervisor
- Ensure proper receiving, staging, cycle counting, and outbound workflows
- Maintain strong organization and cleanliness standards (5S)
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
- Call Center Manager – demand forecasting and scheduling alignment
- Plant Manager – production planning, BOM accuracy, and workflow coordination
- Installer Manager – ensuring installers have the right inventory on hand
- General Manager – KPI development, reporting, and strategic alignment
Compensation Range & Experience Guidelines
Candidates Typically Landing at the Higher End ($67,000 – $70,000):
- 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing or multi-site distribution
- Strong demand planning, forecasting, and min/max inventory experience
- Proven experience aligning manufacturing with distribution needs
- Strong vendor negotiation and procurement background
- Experience supervising a buyer/procurement specialist
- Direct experience maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Experience with LTL freight, multi-state logistics, or fleet operations
- KPI development, SOP creation, and continuous improvement experience
Candidates Typically Landing at the Lower–Mid Range ($60,000 – $64,000):
- 1–2 years in inventory, supply chain, procurement, or warehouse leadership
- Still developing forecasting, procurement, or vendor negotiation skills
- Limited experience supervising a procurement or warehouse lead
- New to BOM ownership or multi-site logistics
- Strong potential but requires coaching to grow into full leadership
Compensation Philosophy
Candidates are placed within the salary range based on their proven experience, operational maturity, leadership capability, and ability to step into the role with minimal ramp-up time.
