Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Overview
The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our inpatient behavioral health and substance abuse programs in Philadelphia. This part time weekend LPN position is ideal for nurses seeking consistent weekend hours in a structured inpatient psychiatric setting.

Our facility provides mental health services, substance use disorder treatment, and dual diagnosis care for adults. We are committed to evidence based, culturally responsive, and patient centered behavioral healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness or adverse reactions
• Accurately document patient care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Participate in crisis intervention and apply de-escalation techniques
• Support and supervise Mental Health Workers during assigned shifts
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and medications
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary behavioral health teams
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulations

Qualifications

Licensure and Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
• Active Pennsylvania LPN license required

Experience

• One year of LPN experience preferred
• Behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance abuse experience strongly preferred
• Experience with dual diagnosis or trauma informed care is a plus

Certifications

• Current CPR certification required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred

Skills

• Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective during behavioral health emergencies
• Dependable, professional, and team oriented
