The System Architecture Intern will be part of our System Integration organization, Systems Architecture group in Windsor Locks, CT. The position will focus on architecting electro-mechanical thermal fluid systems including air, vapor, and liquid cooling and heating systems. The System Architecture will focus on studies that evaluate performance, safety, reliability, controllability, installation, and cost.  The System Architecture Intern will collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups, customers and discipline experts to model and define the architecture and validate it against stakeholder needs. 

What You Will Do:

  • Support the development of highly integrated systems using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools. Support MBSE process improvement activities.

  • Support development of system requirements and models.

  • Support requirements validation and implementation verification.

  • Assists in performing analyses using physics-based models.

  • Support hands-on system lab integration, verification, and troubleshooting.

What You Will Learn:

  • Application of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) processes and methods to solve complex problems.

  • Logical and systematic conversion of system requirements into system design solutions that meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Use of physics-based models to support requirements development, assessment of system performance, and root-cause investigations.

  • Practical application of systems engineering processes such as planning, system development, requirements validation, implementation verification, configuration management, process assurance, etc.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience creating SysML models using tools such as Cameo and/or Rhapsody.

  • Experience modeling control systems using MATLAB/Simulink.

  • Experience scripting in Python.

  • Completed college-level courses in fluid mechanics, heat
