SUMMARY:

Contributes to the smooth flow of information, communications, educational materials, and supplies throughout the district. Assists in receiving, storing, issuing and delivering of equipment, tools, and supplies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Receiving and Distribution

  • Guide collaborative efforts to support effective delivery of instructional materials to the assigned areas of the district.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support the receipt, storage, retrieval, and distribution of

instructional materials and supplies.

Inventory

  • Prepare annual inventory reports for designated units and functions; implement and oversee inventory management processes; and conduct inspections of instructional materials.
  • Compile and maintain all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required for instructional material function of the distribution department: submit data to appropriate state agencies.

Safety

  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques when performing job duties, including lifting and carrying. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in accordance with prescribed safety guidelines.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly report any issues that cannot be immediately resolved to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain safety standards in compliance with federal, state, and insurance regulations.

Other

  • Communicate departmental activities to other district offices and administrators and represent the distribution department as needed in meetings and related activities.

  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Accurately report work hours using the time clock to report start and end times.
  • Utilize effective communication skills; ensure that all interactions are supportive, courteous, and respectful.
  • Pursue Professional Development activities; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives.
  • Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
  • Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
  • Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or combination of education and experience
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a record of safe driving

Experience:

  • One year of successful experience in logistics operations within a collaborative team environment.

Other:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

SPECIAL KNOWLEGDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of effective inventory management methods and practices
  • Ability to conduct on-site inspections
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed written and oral instructions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive interactions
  • Ability to apply safety rules and regulations for job assignments and equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Skilled in team building and collaboration to implement, measure, and improve programs and services

MENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Tools/Equipment Used:

  • Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; forklift or hydraulic lifting equipment; hand truck, dolly, and pallet jack; small hand tools; light truck or van

Posture:

  • Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions

Motion:

  • Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving

Lifting:

  • Heavy lifting and carrying (50 pounds and over) daily

Environment:

  • Work outside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration; exposure to chemical (herbicides and fertilizer) and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours
