About Neurophos:
At Neurophos, we are revolutionizing AI computation with a groundbreaking photonic module that promises to redefine industry standards. After three years of stealth R&D, we have engineered a technology platform delivering 100x performance gains in neural network computing—powering applications like Large Language Models (LLMs) and next-generation AI architectures. By integrating metamaterials with conventional optoelectronics, our compute-in-memory optical system surpasses existing solutions, paving the way for the future of AI hardware. We are scaling our elite engineering team to bring this transformative technology to market. Join us to shape the future of optical computing.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Analog IC Design Engineer to contribute to the full-custom
electronic components that power our revolutionary photonic AI platform. This role is focused
on the design and delivery of critical, low-frequency analog building blocks essential for chip
operation and stability. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of these foundational analog
circuits, ensuring high precision, low noise, and excellent stability across all operating
conditions. If you possess a proven track record of designing reliable, high-yield analog blocks
and are eager to work at the foundation of electronics and photonics, you will make a defining
impact on the future of optical computing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define architecture and specifications for core electronic blocks based on system-level requirements.
- Perform full-custom schematic capture, advanced analog simulations, and complete physical layout, including DRC/LVS, of critical analog blocks in deep sub-micron CMOS technologies using Cadence Virtuoso. Areas of responsibility may include: (
a)
Foundational analog IC blocks such as bandgaps, LDO regulators, operational amplifiers, voltage references, reference currents, and power on reset circuits.
(b)
Precision low-speed bias circuits
, essential for setting the operating points of the high-speed signal path components (e.g., drivers and TIAs).
(c)
Bias and control circuitry that maximizes performance of the electro-optical interface. - Conduct detailed analysis, including Monte Carlo analysis, to ensure high yield and robustness across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) variation.
- Conduct post-layout extraction and simulation to validate performance against parasitic effects.
- Oversee physical layout with a focus on minimizing noise coupling, thermal gradients, and matching errors to ensure the stability of precision blocks (e.g., bandgaps and references).
Qualifications:
- Degree:
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering. - Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in full-custom analog integrated circuit design. - Technical Proficiency:
Demonstrated expert proficiency in the Cadence tool suite, specifically Virtuoso schematic, simulation, custom layout, and parasitic extraction. Deep understanding of
:Mismatch and Statistical Analysis (Monte Carlo) for ensuring design robustness and high manufacturing yield.
- Feedback COntrol Systems and Stability in continuous-time circuits, specifically for regulators and op0amp applications.
- Low-Noise Design Techniques.
Semiconductor device physics and Process, Voltage, and Temperature (PVT)
Proven track record of taking low-speed analog blocks from concept to tape-out.
Preferred Skills:
- A background in photonic transceivers or optical communication electronics (e.g., experience with control loops for modulators, photodiodes, and lasers).
- Experience with automatic gain control loops, offset reduction, and calibration techniques.
What We Offer:
- A pivotal role in an innovative startup redefining the future of AI hardware.
- A collaborative and intellectually stimulating work environment.
- Competitive compensation, including salary and equity options.
- Opportunities for career growth and future team leadership.
Why Join Neurophos?
This is a rare opportunity to work on a game-changing technology at the intersection of
photonics and AI. As part of our elite team, you'll contribute to a platform that redefines
computational performance and accelerates the future of artificial intelligence. Be a key player in bringing this transformative innovation to the world.
