Retail Store Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Store Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining store merchandising, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail skills in a dynamic environment, with responsibilities spanning sales, stocking, and customer engagement. Bilingual abilities and prior retail experience are a plus, but a positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
• Operate POS systems for cash handling, sales transactions, and returns
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Upsell products to enhance customer experience and meet sales goals
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stock replenishment
• Stock shelves and organize inventory to ensure product availability
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
• Assist with cashiering duties, including basic math calculations and handling cash or card payments
• Support supervising staff in overseeing store operations when needed
• Maintain phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly desirable
• Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and retail math is advantageous
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for transactions and inventory management
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Supervising experience is a plus but not required; leadership qualities are valued
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stocking tasks
• Effective phone etiquette for customer interactions over the phone or via email
