Meadowlark Log Homes is a premier handcrafted log home manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for excellence, craftsmanship, and integrity, with the Pre-Assembly Department (PAD) being the heartbeat of our log home production process.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking to elevate this department with a dedicated Production Manager — a leader who thrives in construction environments, but is also comfortable coaching people, driving a system, and owning outcomes.

This is not a hands-on technical craftsman role. This is a leadership and management position for someone who understands construction, production flow, and has the humility to learn our process from the ground up.

The right candidate will bring experience leading crews or managing construction projects, combined with the mindset of a servant leader who is committed to safety, quality, timelines, accountability, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the PAD crew to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production objectives.
  • Build a culture of professionalism, humility, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance feedback and support employee development.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment between PAD, operations, and upper management.

Production Oversight

  • Manage workflow, scheduling, sequencing, and production planning for pre-assembly operations, while ensuring production meets Meadowlark's standards for consistency, craftsmanship, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks and proactively identify improvements in process, tooling, and layout.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.

Hands-On Engagement

  • Be present on the production floor daily; supporting, observing, training, and stepping in where needed.
  • Learn the PAD process deeply enough to guide the team effectively (mastery of technical skills not required).
  • Model a strong work ethic without micromanaging all tasks.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations and Project Management to coordinate timelines and expectations.
  • Communicate production status, needs, challenges, and wins.
  • Participate in strategic planning as we continue to scale production capacity.

Required Experience

  • 3–5+ years in construction leadership (crew lead, foreman, superintendent, production manager, or GC).
  • Demonstrated success managing people and production in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety, and workflow.

Key Traits

  • Humble: Willing to learn our process, seek feedback, and grow with the team.
  • Hands-on mindset: Comfortable stepping in to support the crew without needing to be the expert builder.
  • Leader-first mentality: You develop people, build teams, and keep standards high.
  • Organized and decisive: Ablility to plan ahead, manage priorities, and keep the department on schedule.
  • Communicator: Clear, direct, and consistent with expectations and follow-through.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles or process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of timber, framing, or specialty construction.

Why Work With Meadowlark Log Homes

  • Join a respected Montana company with decades of craftsmanship and a strong culture of integrity in a leadership role that truly matters.
  • Lead a department ready for the next level of professionalism and performance.
  • Be part of a mission-driven team building some of the finest handcrafted log homes in the country.
