Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Systems Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Integrated Product Team Lead (IPT) Lead – Electrical Power Systems (EPS), the Systems Test Engineer will design, build, and operate Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for spacecraft module testing, focusing on power, data, simulation, and control systems to support AI&T (Assembly, Integration, & Testing) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments, requiring hands-on hardware skills, electrical/aerospace engineering knowledge, software proficiency (LabVIEW, C, scripting), and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure spacecraft functionality and compliance with standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create EGSE for ground power, data interfaces (CAN, Ethernet), solar array/load simulation, RF support, and control systems.
  • Build, integrate, troubleshoot, and maintain test systems and harnesses.
  • Develop test automation scripts (LabVIEW, Python) and integrate EGSE with ground software.
  • Support powered testing, HIL/FlatSat campaigns, anomaly resolution, and ensure repeatability.
  • Prepare test procedures, design docs (schematics, BOMs), and test reports.
  • Work with avionics, software, and systems engineering teams, influencing spacecraft design.
  • Ensure adherence to aerospace standards (ESA, NASA) and quality protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in BS in Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of proven experience in spacecraft EGSE design/operation, powered testing, and HIL/FlatSat environments.
  • Proficiency with test equipment (DMM, oscilloscopes, DAQ).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
  • Excited to work in a hands-on, fast-paced, interactive lab environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Additional Differentiators

  • Strong skills in C, LabVIEW, or scripting (Python).
  • Familiarity with SpaceWire, Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI protocols.
  • PCB design (Altium) and CAD (SolidWorks).
