Prep Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped to perfection for our chefs to create delicious meals. Your attention to detail and commitment to food safety will help maintain the high standards of our kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and menus
• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and storage areas
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling and storage of food items
• Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
• Assist with menu planning and inventory management as needed
• Participate in catering events and special functions as required
• Support the culinary team with cooking tasks when necessary

Skills

• Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred
• Strong knowledge of menu planning and food preparation techniques
• Familiarity with cooking methods, food service practices, and food handling regulations
• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable
• Culinary experience with demonstrated knife skills is essential
• Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is crucial
• Experience in catering services is a plus
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
